TaxStache Website

TaxStache came to me as a witty, snarky tax newsletter that needed to become a full website. I designed and built it from scratch — a content engine with pillar-page tooling and deep BeeHiiv integrations built to grow the list and serve readers.

Project Info

TaxStache approached me as a new tax newsletter with a strong, distinct brand — witty, snarky, instantly recognizable — and no website to match it. The job was to translate that brand into a fully functioning content site.

I designed the whole thing in Figma first, then we built it out in Bricks. The site is architected around publishing: landing pages, blog and article design, and the full structure of a content-first site. The piece I’m proudest of is the flexible-content system built on ACF — it turns the site into a real tool for producing highly detailed information guides and pillar pages, not just basic posts with a text box. Structured, functional, repeatable.

From there it became a growth engine. We did custom development to integrate deeply with BeeHiiv — subscribe forms, referral pages, gated downloads, and more — so the website and the newsletter operate as one system instead of two disconnected channels. Because TaxStache was brand new, we built all of it from scratch, and I’ve stayed on as an ongoing partner, working closely with the team to evolve the site, add features, and keep serving their readers better over time.

The Problem

TaxStache had a sharp, well-defined newsletter brand but no proper web presence behind it. They needed that brand turned into a fully functioning content site from the ground up — one that could publish serious, detailed content, convert visitors into subscribers, and tie tightly into their BeeHiiv newsletter, rather than just being a pretty homepage.
